KISS Today Goodbye—and Point Me Toward Paul Stanley

And I thought l was cool when I met Roy Clark. But as you might have guessed from this picture, seven-year-old Zoey (my cousin Don's daughter) just took cool to a whole new level.

Last month at the Saginaw, Mich. concert in front of 10,000 screaming KISS fans, Zoey got invited up on stage. Can you imagine? I asked Don if he and his wife, Angie, knew this was coming.

No, we had no idea that was coming. Our seats were about halfway back the arena, we just happened to be at the right place at the right time. The manager walked by us once, although we didn’t know who he was, then he came back in a couple minutes and asked Zoey. Just a very lucky break!

How to Set Yourself Up for Lucky Breaks

Show up. Life has a lot of "Must be present to win." Dress for the occasion. I don't know if you can see it in this picture, but Zoey happens to be wearing a KISS t-shirt. Smile. Make them glad they invited you. Notice how Zoey isn't trying to upstage her host.

And when someone else gets a lucky break and takes time to share it with you, take time to savor the moment with them. I hope Zoey's second grade teacher is reading this post.
